The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation is proud to announce Gary Sinise will deliver the keynote address at the 2024 Luncheon, which will be held on March 26, 2024, at the Charlotte Convention Center.
For over four decades, Gary Sinise has passionately advocated for the well-being of America’s servicemen and women, dedicating himself to supporting active-duty military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Known for his iconic role as Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump, Sinise’s connection with the military community led to the formation of the “Lt. Dan Band” in 2004, performing for troops worldwide. He served as the national spokesperson for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial Foundation and currently serves on the President’s Advisory Group for the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation, the Community Council for Hope for the Warriors, and is an honorary board member of Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).
His humanitarian efforts have earned Sinise numerous accolades, including the Presidential Citizens Medal and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Patriot Award. In 2011, he established the Gary Sinise Foundation, dedicated to serving and honoring our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, and the families who serve alongside them.
